Thank you for visiting Angelica Holistic Therapies, named after one of the many essential oils I use in my aromatherapy treatments, said to possess calming qualities and known as the "oil of angels".

​

After receiving many good therapies myself, (and some not so good!), a seed was planted and I knew that it was time to retrain in order to be able to provide treatments that I am passionate about.  

 

My first step on my journey of holistic therapies began in 2005/2006 in the UK where I attended complimentary therapies courses.  I then had to put the learning on hold as we moved to New Zealand in 2007.  I initially worked for the DHB until I was able to leave my job in administration and to finally follow my dream!

 I am mad passionate about all things botanical and when I get any spare time I love to paint watercolours of our beautiful botanicals and am a member of the New Zealand Botanical Artists Society which enables me to exhibit and sometimes even sell my work!

 In today's time pressured society we all need to take some time out in order to recharge our batteries and help our bodies and minds cope better with stress.  My philosophy is all about the organic, holistic approach, treating the mind, body and soul and my practice intention is to provide an absolute pampering and a deeply relaxing experience that will leave you rejuvenated and re-energised.  My therapies reflect this holistic approach, using as many organic ingredients as possible, weaving aromatherapy and reiki through the fabric of my therapies.

About My Treatment Room

 I practice professional treatments using professional products in a tranquil room from my lovely home at Matamata, Waikato, New Zealand. 

​

 You will be warmly welcomed and as you enter your senses with be filled with aromatic scents, softly playing relaxing music, flickering candles, a warm, hushed atmosphere and massage table dressed with fresh, clean linen. 

 

 I offer a quiet, hushed environment for clients with the intention of providing an oasis of calm and tranquility where you can enjoy a peaceful relaxing therapy.  You are encouraged to "switch off"-and embrace the calm. This is your time, please make the most of every minute. You are encouraged to embrace calm and peace.  Please make sure your mobile phone is switched off to avoid distractions and do make arrangements for any children to be cared  for while you enjoy your peaceful time.

 Once we have greeted and discussed any issues or expectations I will not be chatting away to you.

 I encourage you to "switch off" and lose yourself in the aromas and soft background music which is conducive to a relax treatment.  It is a time to internalise and "JUST BE" ........... embrace the calm.

 Gift Vouchers can be purchased for any monetary value or treatment.  

 E-mailed voucher - no fee.

 Postcard voucher - no fee (if postage required fee would apply tbc at the time)

 Greeting card and envelope voucher - additional $5. (if postage required extra fee would apply tbc at the time)

 

All gift vouchers are strictly valid for 6 months from the date of issue unless it is for a Special Offering, in which case it is valid for as long as that deal is valid.  This is non-negotiable.  Payments can be made via direct bank info if E-mailed voucher, or by EFTPOS or cash if it is to be collected. Gift Vouchers are non-refundable, must be used in a single appointment and cannot be exchanged for cash.

About Your Treatment

 Your treatment will last for the time as specified on the menus so please arrive at least 5 minutes early (or 15 if it is your first appointment) to start the unfurling process & settle into the space.  If you arrive late this may impact on your treatment time.  Elderly or frail clients may not be suitable for all treatments, please check before booking.  You will need to be able to get yourself on and off the massage table without assistance as I will not be present while you get yourself prepared for treatment in order to provide privacy.

 For your comfort if you are having a full body massage or a pamper package that is 2 hours or longer then you may benefit from having a snack no nearer than 1.5 hours before your appointment

Contraindications

 Please note some conditions mean that treatments may not be safe for you.  These include elderly or very frail people, thin crapey skin, cancer currently or in last 2 years, recent operations or procedures, heart conditions, sunburn, recent tattoos, undiagnosed lumps, asthma may restrict treatments, diabetes ,blood pressure issues, infections including athletes foot, colds, flu, coughs. Please check before booking if you are uncertain and you may be asked to check with your GP before being accepted for treatments.

 What to wear? 

 Facials/head massage - You will be lying down on the couch, covered with towels/blanket and I will ensure you are warm and comfortable.  You may keep lower half clothing on if you wish or remove them but for the best massage experience you will be encouraged to remove your top half clothing.  Most people feel freer without restricted clothing.

​

 Body massage/body polish & moisturise/mud cocoon - For the best experience you will remove all clothing or you may keep your underpants on or a disposable throng will be provided if you prefer.  You will be covered with towels/blankets for your modesty only the area worked on will be exposed. 

​

 Feet/leg treatments -

  If foot soak is included - footwear and leg wear to be removed & a modesty towel will be provided to place on your lap unless you can comfortably roll your leg wear up to your knees.

 If no foot soak is included then lower half clothing to be removed. 

 

 Reiki/Colour Chakras & Heart aroma meditation/ear candling - Remain fully clothed.  You will be lying on the couch and covered with towels/blanket.

Essential Oils

As many as possible are sourced in New Zealand and organic, however this is not always possible due to the large array that I use.  I only used 100% pure essential oils, not adulterated with cheaper oils.

​

Payments accepted by cash, direct bank transfer or EFTPOS. If paying by credit card please note there is 3% fee payable - sorry! We reserve the right to amend prices without notice.

Any discount, offers or vouchers will be applied at the time of payment and only one offer to be used for any treatment. 

​

A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for cancellation to avoid being charged a cancellation fee (the cost of your treatment).  Any treatment longer than 2 hours will require a 50% non-returnable deposit.

​

Please respect your therapist, as indeed you will be respected, and note we reserve the right to terminate the treatment if at any time comments or actions cause embarrassment or show disrespect.
